Recomendation for a cheap SATA controller for linux software raid? Just enough to get the os running to the point where it loads a specialized driver that does the actual raid- stuff. It’s just like RAM. Change another SATA cable.

I used an agp card [fx ultra], a couple of pci sounds cards and a firewire card. What is your biggest Pentium 4 Collection? I wonder if the hack to get a Socket Xeon running n a board will work with this board.

Seems I tried windows 7 with a 4core board but I have no idea why as I was on better stuff for my main PC when I bought them, unless it was as a stopgap due to other hardware failing. The PCI-E protocol allows for bandwidth negotiation, all cards should work in all 775duall that they can 775dhal fit into. Thanks for the suggestions. In my personal opinion, running quad’s is not worth it because of the FSB hit and few of the games supporting quad vzta.
I just don’t get why this damn thing won’t work. So I suspect compatability. One day the board just up and died. If I don’t disable device mapper, I can’t use both drives and I can’t seem to be able to reboot — I usually get an error with disk labels.
